Key Challenges

As a result of various issues outwith the client’s control, there existed a window of just two weeks within which the detailed engineering had to be completed. Cleanship adopted a multi-engineer approach to complete the task in such a short timeframe, whilst maintaining high quality standards. Another challenge involved the logistics of various pieces of equipment – several pieces would not arrive until after the ship had left drydock. Whilst we always engineer to make equipment as easy to install as possible, solutions had to be put in place from the beginning to allow the installation of this kit whilst in service.

Project Outcome

To assist with the installation, two Cleanship engineers flew out to the vessel whilst in drydock as soon as the main engineering was completed and sent for fabrication. This time on board answered many of the ships queries quickly regarding smaller pieces of equipment that were marked as ‘to be placed on site’ to save engineering time.
This fleet of vessels now has a fully functioning BWMS that was designed in record time with onboard support during the installation. It is now ready to comply with the IMO and USCGs standards required for their compliant voyages.
