IHM Part I on
NLV Pharos

Project Overview

Cleanship was asked by the Northern Lighthouse Board to undertake an IHM Part I survey onboard the NLV Pharos. The NLV Pharos is a lighthouse tender, created specifically to maintain lighthouses and lightvessels around Scotland and the Isle of Man. The vessel was first launched in 2006.

Project delivered in 28 days

8 hours onboard vessel

Class approved by Lloyd’s Register

Key Challenges

The IHM team remained flexible to the vessel’s schedule, ensuring that surveyors were able to meet the vessel at any point during a 3 day window. This enabled NLV Pharos to carry out its requirements, whilst still ensuring timely inspection of the vessel upon arrival in port.

Project Outcome

A member of our Cleanship IHM team mobilised very quickly, meeting the vessel at the port of Rosyth within 24 hours of project commencement. The vessel was inspected over a course of a single day, with a total of 8 hours spent onboard. The inspection was carried out to meet EU SRR standards, with a total of 56 samples collected. Lab testing was carried out within a timely manner and final reporting was received within 4 weeks of onboard inspection. The Cleanship team also worked with the vessel’s class society, Lloyd’s Register, to ensure the inspection met with class approval guidelines. The vessel is now fully prepared to meet the new EU SRR guidelines well in advance of their implementation on 31st December 2020.

The Cleanship team carried out the IHM survey on our vessel safely and professionally and we were delighted with the service we received which ensures our vessel meets this statutory requirement
