A new video broadcasting online shows an alleged attack on the M/V Pumba in the Red Sea using an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) seemingly loaded with explosives.

The USV was subsequently destroyed after Pumba’s embarked armed protection team returned fire on the vessel, causing it to explode just off the stern.

Houthis spokesperson claimed the group targeted the Pumba in the Red Sea on July 20, representing the vessel as an “American ship.”

The M/V Pumba is a Liberian-flagged containership. Equasis data shows it is owned by an affiliate of Sea Lead Shipping located in Singapore.
