Offshore drilling contractor Transocean has released its quarterly Fleet Status Report, highlighting contract updates for its offshore drilling rigs.

The report shows an additional backlog of approximately $656 million for the quarter, bringing the total backlog to $8.8 billion as of July 24, 2024.

Several new contracts have been secured with dayrates surpassing $500,000, indicating a trend of rising dayrates in the offshore drilling market.

Key contracts include Deepwater Atlas in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico with a dayrate of $580,000, potentially reaching $650,000 with contingencies, Deepwater Asgard with a 365-day extension at $515,000, and Transocean Norge in Norway at $517,000.

Other contracts involve extensions and options for Deepwater Invictus, Transocean Spitsbergen, Transocean Endurance, and Deepwater Mykonos.
