- Safety is no accident. Consistently risk assess, never guess.
- Always be familiar with and critically assess the environment you are working in.
- Safety is a form of mind – accidents are a lack of mind.
- Don’t take shortcuts and obey the safe practices onboard.
- Know your rights, including the right to control work if you believe conditions are unsafe.
- Always use the right tool for the job.
- Always wear the accurate PPE for the job.
- Always confirm you are fit for the assignment.
- Illness, lack of training, and intoxication can improve the risk of injury.
- Never join a space unless you are 100% sure it has a safe atmosphere.
- Look up; risks are in all directions.
- Stop the assignment if you think there is a danger.
- PPE is useless in your cabin.
- If you are feeling down, seek help.
- Maintain sufficient communication with other crew members.
